Carolyn “Peaches” R. Jess

Age 84, of Sidney, formerly of Pleasant Hill, passed away Sunday, December 25, 2016, at Wilson Memorial Hospital in Sidney. She was born August 7, 1932, in Sidney, Ohio, to her parents Elmer E. & Doris L. (Copsey) Rosell. Carolyn graduated from Houston High School.  On June 11, 1950, She married Lowell H. Jess in Lockington, Ohio, and together they shared a life for over 66 years. She was the owner of the Pathway to Herbs in Pleasant Hill for over 40 years and was a certified herbalist and reflexologist. She attended the Grace Baptist Church in Sidney and was a Girl Scout leader, AWANA leader, and neighborhood chairman for Pleasant Hill and Covington.

She will be missed and remembered by her loving children and their spouses Deetra & Bob Bissett, Ersta & Mark Starkey, Leesa & Bob Westfall; grandchildren Dorie Bowlin, Jodi McNeil, Rob & Rachael Bissett, Lyndsay & Clinton House, Tony & Amber Bissett, Abby Starkey, Molly& Matt Bowman, Heather & Ryan Hickerson, Amy & Mike Henson; great grandchildren Josh, Justin, Heather, Cory, Amanda, Wyatt, Morgan, Ashley, AJ, Hannah, Naomi, Bobby , Owen, Brooks; great great grandson Kyler; sisters-in-law Betty Patty, Mary Ellen Wilson, Carolyn Ferree; brother-in-law Mike Jess. She was preceded in death by her parents; great grandson Lester Jake Bissett; siblings Rowena Mohler and Patricia Mohler.

Funeral services will be held  1:00 PM Thursday, December 29, at the Pleasant Hill First Brethren Church, 210 N. Church Street, Pleasant Hill. Pastor Bob Westfall will officiate with interment following at Miami Memorial Park Cemetery, Covington. The family will receive friends from 12-1 PM at the church.
