Age 64 of Ludlow Falls, passed away Sunday, June 12, 2011. He was born February 11, 1947, in Piqua, to his parents William Louis & Wilma (Gibboney) Abshire. Rick graduated from Milton-Union High School Class of 1965 and worked at Hobart Brothers and Miller Electric in Troy. He was a US Air Force Veteran and served on the Ludlow Falls Fire Department for many years. He was preceded in death by his father, William, and grandson Michael. He is survived by his mother Wilma; sons & daughter-in-law Scott Abshire and Jason & Jodi Abshire; daughter Cara Abshire; grandchildren Nathan, Levi, Kennedy, Baily, Alex, and Jase; great grandchildren Troy, Dominique, Destiny Abshire; sister and brother-in-law Terri & Terry Brown; nephews Kirk Sowry, Bill Brown, and Tony Brown. The family would like to thank the Union Township Life Squad, Miami County Sheriff?s Department, Ludlow Falls Fire Department for all their concern and efforts. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Friday, June 17, at Jackson-Sarver Funeral Home, 1 S. Main St, Pleasant Hill. Interment will follow at Miami Memorial Park.
