Wayne E. Leonard

Age 87, of Pleasant Hill, passed away Tuesday, August 16, 2022, at his home. He was born July 3, 1935, in Dayton, Ohio, to his parents Harvey & Lucille (Haworth) Leonard. Wayne graduated from Newton High School class of 1953. On September 4, 1954, he married Thelma Trost in Pleasant Hill and together they shared a life for over 65 years.  Wayne retired from Hobart Corp after over 30 years of employment and was a longtime member of the Pleasant Hill Church of the Brethren. Wayne was preceded in death by his loving wife Thelma and his parents. He will be missed and remembered by his son Ted Leonard of Covington; daughters and son-in-law Diane Wackler of Covington, Debra & Tony Hines of Pleasant Hill; grandchildren Chad & Samantha Leonard of Georgia, Nathan & Morgan Hines of Zainesville, Heather & Josh Usserman of Bellefontaine, Chelsea & Titus Bowman of Covington, Ryan Hines of Huntersville, North Carolina; great grandchildren Patience and Aiden Leonard, Kensley Bowman, Cooper and Hudson Hines, Hayden and Hadley Usserman; sister Rita Ressler of Laura. Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Saturday, August 20, at Jackson-Sarver Funeral Home, 1 S. Main Street, Pleasant Hill, with interment following at Miami Memorial Park, Covington. The family will receive friends from 9:30-10:30 AM Saturday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Pleasant Hill History Center.
