Warren H Jackson, age 94, of Pleasant Hill, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, February 9 in the Clair Bridge Nursing Center. Warren was born on October 10, 1920, to the late Andrew B. and Minnie May (Adams) Jackson. He worked on the family farm with his 11 siblings, brothers Charles, Clyde, Otis, Aubrey, Andrew Jr., John, Van, and sisters, Helen, Leona Fritz, Alma Stewart, and Ruth Roeth. He was a 1938 Newton High School graduate. He married the love of his life, Mary Esther Noll, who preceded him in death after 67 years of
marriage. Warren was a First Lieutenant in the Air Corps during WWII. After the war, he farmed and then later was employed with the Miami County Conservation office. He was an active
member of the American Legion. Warren also sold real estate and was an insurance agent for the Buckeye Mutual Insurance Company. He served on the Newton School Board and was active in the community. Warren retired from the Miami County Engineers Office. While employed there, he was in charge of the zoning department and he also assigned all the house numbers in Miami County. He was very proud of this accomplishment. After retirement, he and his wife took many trips and his favorite was the trip to the Holy Land. Warren was inducted into the Newton Hall of Fame. He compiled a book of the history of WWII veterans of Newton Township, which is located in the Pleasant Hill History Center. Warren was an active member of the Troy Baptist Temple. He taught Sunday School for many years. He also attended LifeWay Baptist Church of Tipp City, in his latter years. He is survived by his three children, 11 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, and 2 great- great grandchildren. Son & daughter-in-law, Cecil and Cordy (Schauer); daughters and sons-in-laws, Bonita and Don Jenkins, Vinnie and Dan Williams, all of Pleasant Hill; grandchildren Tony and Lynee Jackson, Tab and Sandra Jackson, Tiffany and Pat McBride, Tina and James Mollette, Jennifer and Giovani Quinones, Benjamin and Cassie Jenkins, Wendy Jenkins and Rachel Rhymes, Eric and Vanessa Williams, Amy and Scott Euton, Lora and Don Bauer, and Jared and Angela Williams.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM Thursday, February 12, at Jackson-Sarver Funeral Home, 1 S. Main Street, Pleasant Hill. Pastor Dan Williams and Pastor Bill Cornell will officiate with interment following at Pleasant Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4-8 PM Wednesday at the funeral home. If so desired, memorial contributions may be made to the Pleasant Hill History Center.
