VIA, Walter J. Age 90, of Troy, passed away Sunday, April 8, 2012, at Upper Valley Medical Center. He was born January 22, 1922, in Indianapolis, IN, to his parents Walter Edward & Zoe (Porter) Via. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Norma Dean (Iddings) Via; brother David Via. He is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law James & Beverly Via of Troy, Thomas & Sue Via of Texas; daughter Amy Jo Via of Piqua; grandchildren Jay & Julie Via of Troy, Ben & Karen Via of Springfield, Brad & Amy Via of Troy, Stacey Rangel of Texas, Shelby Via & Nick Polis of Florida; 9 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; brother Theodore Via of Florida. Walter graduated from Newton High School class of 1943 and on May 14, 1944, he married his loving wife Norma Dean Iddings. He owned and operated Via Lawn Care and was a member of the St. John's United Church of Christ, Troy. Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM Wednesday, April 11, at Jackson-Sarver Family Funeral Home, 1 S. Main Street, Pleasant Hill. Interment will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
