Ruby Ethel Renner
Age 89, of Pleasant Hill, passed away Wednesday, September 1, 2021, at Upper Valley Medical Center. She was born December 17, 1931, in Trotwood, Ohio, to her parents Robert William & Lois Dorothy (Pleasant) Schleinitz.
Ruby graduated from Newton High School class of 1949 and attended Manchester College. On November 4, 1951, she married Charles Ivan Renner in Pleasant Hill and together they shared a life for over 64 years. She worked for Lancer Meats in Troy and Landes Meats in Englewood as a meat wrapper. She was very active with the Pleasant Hill Church of the Brethren where she served on many committees and boards including the Church of the Brethren District Board, and played the organ for countless church services, weddings and funerals of over 50 years. She and Ivan were caretakers at Camp Sugar Grove for a number of years while living on the church farm. She was a member of the TOPS Club, the Sheppard Tractor Club, and the Brethren’s Retirement Community Women’s Auxiliary.
She will be missed and remembered by her loving family, children and their spouses Thomas I. & Diane Renner of Bradford, Lois M. & Steve Hutchinson of Pleasant Hill, Mary Ann & Roger Mumford of Calabash, NC, Sarah E. & Tom Addington of Ludlow Falls, Faith E. Renner of Pleasant Hill; grandchildren Angie (Josh) Gleason, Brad (Rachel) Renner, Jeremy Cotner, Jodi (Matt) Lindemuth, Joe (Kori) Hutchinson, Jordan (Alicia) Hutchinson, Ryan (Kathy) Mumford, Stephanie Mumford (fiancé Bob Schwier), Jennifer (BJ) Owens, Phillip Addington ( fiancé Annastasia Wright); 16 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandson; siblings James Schleinitz of Pleasant Hill, Carolyn Hoblit of Pleasant Hill, Lowell & Betty Schleinitz of Dayton, Jerry & Matha Schleinitz of West Milton; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
Ruby was devoted to her family and community and would faithfully send out greeting cards to everyone she knew. She was loved and will be missed by everyone who knew her.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM Wednesday, September 8, at Pleasant Hill Church of the Brethren, 300 E. Monument Street, Pleasant Hill. Pastor Nick Beam will officiate with interment following at Pleasant Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4:00-8:00 PM Tuesday at the church.
