ADAMS, Robert L. Age 75 of Pleasant Hill, passed away Monday, December 5, 2011, at Upper Valley Medical Center. He was born January 16, 1936, in Covington, Ohio, to his parents Melvin Sr. & Bessie (Morris) Adams. Bob graduated from Newton High School Class of 1954 and served in the US Marine Corp during the Korean War. Following his military service, he worked as a carpenter with the Carpenters Union Local 104 for 37 years where he served in many offices including president. He was a local farmer and owned and operated the A&A Farm Mart in Pleasant Hill. He was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Troy, served as president of the Pleasant Hill JC's, and served as a Newton Twp. Trustee for several years. He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years Rosalie (Rudy) Adams; daughters and sons-in-law Penny & Mark Fisher of Arcanum, Robin & Chris Colvin of Waynesville; grandchildren Dustin & Amanda Fisher of Casstown, Kimberly & Edward Dean of Kissimmee, FL, Casey Colvin of Waynesville, Christen Fisher of Arcanum, Hannah Colvin of Waynesville, Cameron Fisher of Arcanum, Adrianna Colvin of Waynesville; sister H. Jean Dershem of Piqua, Vivian Kinnison of Greenville; brothers and sisters-in-law Marion & Fern Adams of Covington, Sam & Jackie Adams of Pleasant Hill, Max & Gloria Adams of Pleasant Hill. He was preceded in death by his son Christopher in 1989; sister Jeannette Nicholas; brothers Dale Adams, Melvin Adams Jr., Verlin Adams. Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM Saturday, December 10, at Jackson-Sarver Family Funeral Home, 1 S. Main Street, Pleasant Hill. Interment will follow at Miami Memorial Park Cemetery, Covington. The family will receive friends from 4-8 PM Friday at the funeral home. If so desired, memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church of Troy or Hospice of Miami County.
