Age 51, formerly of Covington, passed away Saturday, July 23, 2011, at Jackson Towers, Sidney. He was born December 31, 1959, in McPherson, KS, to his parents Walter & Opal Irene (Dimond) French. Richard graduated from Covington High School Class of 1978. He had a great passion for driving trucks and was an avid Cincinnati Reds Fan. He attended the Crossroad Church of God, Piqua, and was a past member of the VFW and Covington Eagles. Richard was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Pat Snider. He will be remembered and missed by his sisters and brother-in-law Betty & Rusty Woodward of Houston, Linda Brown of Pleasant Hill, Shirley Hittle of Piqua; brothers and sisters-in-law Jerry & Sue French of South Carolina, Larry & Cathy French of Piqua and Randy & Kathy of Greenville; 15 nieces and nephews and countless close friends. Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Thursday, July 28, at Jackson-Sarver Family Funeral Home, 1 S. Main St, Pleasant Hill. Pastor Jerry Wilson will officiate with interment following at Pleasant Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5-7 PM Wednesday at the funeral home. If so desired, memorial contributions may be made to the Ohio State Comprehensive Transplant Center.
