Paul E. Laughman

Age 66, of Pleasant Hill, passed away Sunday, January 3, 2016, at Hospice of Miami County Inpatient Unit. He was born April 5, 1949, in Troy, Ohio, to his parents Wayne E. & Betty J. (Zimmerman) Laughman. Paul graduated from Newton High School class of 1967 and graduated from Bowling Green State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering. Following graduation, he was employed at Trojan Asphalt which is now Barrett paving where he retired as a project administrator. He married Katherine M. (Higgins) Frueh on September 30, 1978, in Troy, and together they raised a family and shared a life for over 37 years. Paul was a past Newton Township trustee and was on the Pleasant Hill village council. He was a member of the Moose Lodge 1044, Troy, and enjoyed golfing and bowling in his free time.  Paul loved being with his family, friends and his loving grandchildren. He will be missed and remembered by his wife Katherine M. Laughman; children and their spouses William & Michelle Frueh of Bell Center, Ohio, Jason L. & Amanda Ferguson of Fairmount, Indiana; grandchildren Alexis, Brandon, Jason Jr., Kaylee; siblings Gary & Mary Alspaugh of Troy, Joe & Linda Beacom of Pleasant Hill, Gene & Amy Laughman of Pleasant Hill. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Larry Laughman. Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Friday, January 8, at Jackson-Sarver Funeral Home, 1 S. Main Street, Pleasant Hill. Pastor Keith Wiggin of the First Baptist Church of Troy,  will officiate with interment following at Union Cemetery, Newton Township. The family will receive friends from 4-8 PM Thursday at the funeral home. If so desired, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Miami County.
