Marilyn M. Rotterman

Age 87, passed away Sunday, July 14, 2024, at Brookdale of Troy. She was born February 1, 1937, in Miami County, Ohio, to her parents Roy & Mildred (Laughman) Hess. Marilyn graduated from Newton High School class of 1955 and held various office jobs including working as a bank tell and supply clerk for the Miami County Court House.  She enjoyed reading and loved to play games and traveling. But mostly, Marilyn loved to be around people and spending time with her family. On July 17, 1955, she married Eugene Rotterman and together they shared a life for over 63 years. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; daughter and son-in-law Lee Ann Oglesbee & William; sister Virginia Wooddell; brother Glen Hess. She will be missed and remembered by her daughter and son-in-law Deneise & Dennis Cain of Covington; grandchildren Denise Wenrick of Piqua, Glen Nickles of Piqua, Matt Cain of Florida; great grandchildren Grace, Glen, Mykaela; sisters Wilma Spitler of Pleasant Hill and Judy Amick of Pleasant Hill. A memorial service will be held 6:00 PM Thursday, July 18, at Jackson-Sarver Funeral Home, 1 S. Main Street, Pleasant Hill. Interment will be held at Pleasant Hill Cemetery at a later date. The family will receive friends from 5:00-6:00 PM Thursday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Covington Outreach Association, Oakes-Beitman Memorial Library, or Day City Hospice.
