HERSHEY, Marian
Age 81, of Troy, passed away peacefully Tuesday, January 7, 2014, at Upper Valley Medical Center. She was born August 13, 1932, in Elizabethtown, PA, to her parents Van Buren & Anna (Rettew) Hilsher. Marian graduated from Elizabethtown High School and earned a degree at Messiah Junior College. On June 20, 1953, she married Dale Leroy Hershey in Elizabethtown, PA. She retired after 38 years as a secretary at Hobart Corporation (PMI), and was a member of the Pleasant Hill Brethren in Christ Church for over 55 years. Marian volunteered as a grandparents volunteer at Concord Elementary and helped with the HOST program at Newton Elementary School. She was a member of the Astrobuds Garden Club, and volunteered at Brukner Nature Center. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Dale L. Hershey; sisters Ruth Hoover, Anna Jean Mann. She will be missed and remembered by her daughters and sons-in-law Jane & Don Delcamp of Troy, Gail & Jim Bulach of Troy; grandchildren Jennifer & Joe Jerele of Kettering, Tyler Delcamp and fiancée Heather Griscel of Troy, Jake Bulach and fiancée Carly O’Keefe of Eaton, Bradley Noll of Perrysburg, Samantha & Colton Torrey of Texas, Amy Noll & fiancé Drew Bethel of Pleasant Hill; great granddaughter Nora Jerele; sisters and brothers-in-law Naomi Engle of Grantham, PA, Lois & Joe Brechbill of Hershey, PA, Joyce & Ron Miller of Grantham, PA; brother Clair & Tina Hilsher of Elizabethtown, PA.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM Saturday, January 11, at Pleasant Hill Brethren in Christ Church, 101 West Hill Street, Pleasant Hill. Pastor John Weaver will officiate with interment following at Pleasant Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4-7 PM Friday at Jackson-Sarver Funeral Home, 1 S. Main Street, Pleasant Hill. If so desired, memorial contributions may be made to Brukner Nature Center.
