KYSER, Justus ?Dale? Age 95, of Pleasant Hill, passed away Monday, September 20, 2010, at Caldwell House in Troy. He was born September 15, 1915, in Latty, Ohio, to his parents Oscar & Mellie (Killian) Kyser. Dale was the first president of the Pleasant Hill Kiwanas Club and was active in local Kiwanas projects such as the Pleasant Hill Food Pantry. He recevied his Bachelors of Education from Manchester College and graduated from Bethany Theological Seminary. He was an ordained minister in the Church of the Brethren and was minister for 13 years in Minnesota and Iowa. He taught math for two years at Bethel High School and received his Masters in Guidance from Miami University. He served as Guidance Director at Milton- Union Schools and retired in 1981. He was active in the Pleasant Hill Church of the Brethren as a member and Sunday school teacher. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 66 ½ years Ruth (Inman) Kyser in 2008; sisters Zella Kyser, Bessie Kyser, Edith Ewers; brothers Leroy Kyser and Robert Kyser. He is survived by his children and their spouses Janet & Gary Eagles of Richmond, IN, Steve & Terri Kyser of Columbus, Christine & Phil Shellenberger of Ludlow Falls, Kathy Kyser of Pleasant Hill; grandchildren Nicole Eagles of Richmond, IN, Jodi Eagles of Indianapolis, Jeff & Stephanie Eagles of Charlotte, NC, Julie Kyser of Etna, OH, Lisa Kyser of Columbus, Stacy Bolon of Etna, OH, Melanie Kyser of Columbus, Justus Paul (J.P.) Shellenberger of Ludlow Falls, Kate Shellenberger of Ludlow Falls; great grandchildren Noelle Eagles, Shawnice Hogg, Jalen Hogg, Janae Hogg, Brianna Morris, Kaleb Morris, Sadie Bolon. The Kyser Family extends special thanks to the Caldwell House of Troy and Hospice of Miami County for the love, care, and support provided to Dale and his family. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, September 24, at Pleasant Hill Church of the Brethren, 300 E. Monument, Pleasant Hill. Pastor Nick Beam will officiate with interment following at Pleasant Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4-8 PM Thursday at Jackson-Sarver Funeral Home, 1 S. Main St., Pleasant Hill.
