Judson Thompson, Jr

Age 89, of Covington, passed away on Friday, May 26, 2023 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on October 2, 1933 to Judson Arthur Sr & Bertha Mae (Jackson) Thompson in Covington, Ohio.

He will be missed and remembered by his children and their spouses Judy & Bob Willis, Michael Thompson, Susan Thompson, Dan & Karin Thompson, Diane Herron, Judson “Jud” Thompson, III; 17 grandchildren; 37 great grandchildren; 1 great and 1 great great on the way. He was preceded in death by his parents; loving wife Charlene R. (Phillis) Thompson in 2021; grandson Judson “Juddie” Thompson IV; siblings Ralph “Tommy” Thompson, Lova Snider, Charles Thompson, Lydia Joy Studebaker, Joseph Thompson, Gladys Alexander, Martha Hinkle, and Richard “Dick” Thompson.

Judson served his country proudly in the United States Army as a paratrooper in the 82nd and 101st Airborne Divisions during the Korean War. He donated to the Newton and Covington Schools Athletic Boosters as well as attending sporting events at both schools. Judson loved watching his grandchildren and was a lifetime member of the Miami County Fair. He loved horses especially training, raising, watching, and teaching his family how to ride especially going to the horse shows and races.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, June 1, 2023 at Pleasant Hill Church of the Brethren, 300 E. Monument St, Pleasant Hill, OH 45359. Interment will follow in Highland Cemetery, Covington. The family will receive friends from 4-7 PM on Wednesday, May 31 at Jackson-Sarver Family Funeral Home, 1 S. Main St, Pleasant Hill, OH 45359.
