Joan Ganger

Joan Ganger, age 87, of Covington, passed away on Saturday, September 17, 2022 at Miami Valley Hospital. She was born October 12, 1934 to Walter Jackson & Thelma Marie Elizabeth (Dome) Anthony in Troy, Ohio and the world was better for it.

Joan was one of the first girl trap loaders at Camp Troy. She worked in restaurants and even as a head baker. Here favorite role was as being a wife and mother. She was charming and funny and everyone who met her loved her. Joan was known for her bright red hair and people still talk about it. She met her husband Paul in high school and it was love at first sight. They married and started a family right away; first with their daughter Paula, two years later with Glenn and ten years later they were surprised with Brian. Love and happiness for her family was all she ever wanted. Now with her passing the world seems a little less bright but we still have the love she placed in our hearts. She will be missed more than words can say.

She is preceded in death by her parents; loving husband Paul Earl Ganger; siblings Harriet Ishmael, Walter “Red” Anthony, and Robert “Bobbie” Anthony. She will be missed and remembered by her loving children Paula (Dennis) Schrader of Bradford, Glenn Ganger of Cincinnati, and Brian Ganger of Covington; grandchildren Heather (Doug) Brooks, Autumn (James) Burns, and Chris (Hope) Schrader; great grandchildren Lily Jo Burns, Hunter and Jeremiah Schrader.

Private services will be held at convenience of the family. Interment will be in Miami Memorial Park, Covington. Arrangements are in care of Jackson-Sarver Family Funeral Home, Pleasant Hill. Online memories of Joan may be left for the family at www.jackson-sarver.com.
