James T. Marcum, Jr.

Age 81, of Pleasant Hill, passed away Saturday, December 3, 2022, at Upper Valley Medical Center. He was born August 6, 1941, in Dayton, Ohio, to his parents James Thomas & Marie L. (Withers) Marcum. Jim graduated from Milton-Union High School class of 1959. He earned his BA in 1963 from Otterbein College and his MS in Education in 1982 from the University of Dayton.  Jim taught English for over 30 years at Newton High School and Milton-Union High School until his retirement in 1993. He will be missed and remembered by his loving wife Lauren K. (Schauer) Marcum; many nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends. A graveside service will be held 10:00 AM Thursday, December 8, at Pleasant Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Pleasant Hill/ Newton Township EMS.
