Doris Evelyn Trost

Age 97, of Pleasant Hill, passed away Sunday, November 19, 2023, at StoryPoint of Troy. She was born November 27, 1925, in Pleasant Hill, Ohio, to her parents Vern J. & Eva Irene (Swisher) Trost. Doris graduated from Newton High School class of 1943 and later graduated from Manchester College in 1947. She retired as a school teacher after 40 years of teaching English, French, and Speech. She began her teaching career at Bradford High School for 2 years, then Lewisburg High School for 14 years, and lastly Covington High School for 25 years. Doris was a member of the Miami County Red Hat Society, Astrobuds Garden Club, the Covington Avocation Club and was a member of the teacher’s sorority Delta Kappa Gamma. Doris loved to travel world-wide, often on trips with friends. Alaska, Paris and Hawaii were some of he places she visited. Doris loved themed Christmas trees, and as soon as her Christmas tree was taken down, she was already planning next year’s theme.  She was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings Carolyn Elizabeth Trost, Donald Trost, Robert Eldon Trost. She will be missed and remembered by her nephews Steven (Robyn) Trost and Stanley Trost; niece Sylvia (Don) Good; and the Renner Family. Funeral services will be held 11:30 AM Monday, November 27, at Jackson-Sarver Funeral Home, 1 S. Main Street, with interment following at Greenville Creek Cemetery, Bradford.
