Diane Elizabeth Crilley, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 6, 2025, in Bradford, Ohio, at the age of 77. Born on March 31, 1948, in Troy, Ohio, Diane was a beacon of kindness and warmth to all who knew her.
Diane's life journey began as the cherished daughter of Howard and Vivian (Howell) Laughman. She graduated from Newton High School in 1966 and retired in 2012 from Hobart where she had been a clerk in the blueprint department.
Marriage graced Diane's life with profound love and partnership when she wed Richard Crilley on January 5, 1973, at Greenville Creek Church. Together, they navigated nearly 53 years of marriage, their bond serving as a testament to enduring affection. Their union was blessed with two daughters, Jennifer Diane Crilley and Jamie Lynn (Kevin) Cullen. As a mother, Diane provided an endless reservoir of love and guidance, qualities she further extended as a grandmother to Michael James (Brandi) Ledford, Joshua Lee-Everett Crilley, Matthew Dustin (Bethany) Crilley, and Elijah Alec Crilley, as well as a great-grandmother to Keilie, Tyler, and Amelia.
Diane was a devout member of the Greenville Creek Christian Church and invested herself wholeheartedly in her faith community. Her interests painted the picture of a woman who savored life's joys—she treasured traveling across the landscapes of North America with Richard on their motorcycle, from the shores of Prince Edward Island to the heights of Pike's Peak and the expanse of Crazy Horse. An avid reader, she often found solace in the pages of a good book, and was also fond of the heartwarming narratives of Hallmark movies. Her loving nature shone brightly as she spent countless cherished moments with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, imbuing in them values of kindness and friendliness that Diane herself embodied.
Diane is survived by her devoted husband, Richard Crilley, her loving daughters, her adored grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and her sister Shirley Kucinski. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Jim Laughman, her sister Nancy Sentman, and her brothers-in-law Roger Sentman and Stan Kucinski, along with her sister-in-law Cheryl Laughman.
Diane will be deeply missed but fondly remembered for the warmth she spread and the love she so freely gave. Her legacy is a woven tapestry of familial bonds, kind-hearted friendship, and a life lived with quiet grace and unwavering care for others.
