Hoover, David Ray, age 90 of West Liberty, formerly of Pleasant Hill passed away on Monday, September 5,2011 at Green Hills Care Center,West Liberty. He was born June 1, 1921. David was preceded in death by his parents Irvin and Martha (Stump) Hoover, beloved wife Ruth H. (Hilsher) Hoover, brother Daniel Hoover. He is survived by his loving children Robert and Esther Hoover-West Liberty,Jim and Cathy Hoover-Troy, grandchildren Patricia Smith,Andrew Hoover,Rebecca Hoover,David Hoover and Rachel Hoover,great-grandchildren Jeffrey Hoover,Taylor Smith and Eric Hoover, brother Herbert Hoover-Lebanon,PA., sisters Carolyn Clinch-Lebanon,PA., Charlotte Espenshade-Lancaster County ,PA.He graduated from Miami University, retired from Dayton City Schools as a teacher,was a member of Fairview Brethren In Christ Church, formerly a Newton School Board Member,Miami County School Board and Upper Valley JVS School Board. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, September 9,2011 at the Pleasant Hill Brethren in Christ Church, 101 West Hill Street,Pleasant Hill with Pastor Sam Hollingsworth officiating, burial to follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Friends may call on Thursday from 4:00-7:00 P.M. at the Jackson-Sarver Family Funeral Home,1 South Main Street,Pleasant Hill.
