STANFORTH, Charles (Leo) Age 76, of Pleasant Hill, passed away Sunday, November 7, 2010, at Upper Valley Medical Center. He was born September 1, 1934, in Dayton, Ohio, to his parents Charles & Goldie (Storer) Stanforth. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Dale Hedrick. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years Mary Ellen (Michael); son and daughter-in-law Charles Wayne & Diane Stanforth of Schertz, TX; daughter and son-in-law Mary Jo & Tom Prickett of Pleasant Hill; grandchildren Christopher & Mali Stanforth of TX, Nathan & Jackie Prickett of Union, Kellen & Roze Stanforth of TX, Andrew Prickett of Pleasant Hill, Amy Prickett of Pleasant Hill, Matthew Prickett of Pleasant Hill; great grandchildren Jacob Stanforth, Brenden Stanforth, Josh Atkins, Luke Prickett, Isabelle Prickett; sister Marlene Barger of FL. Charlie retired as a supervisor of the Miami County 911 Dispatch. He was a volunteer firefighter with the Pleasant Hill/Newton Twp Fire Department and Life Squad for 25 years and was a volunteer Sheriff's Deputy with the Miami County Sheriffs Department. Charlie was an active supporter of the Newton High School Athletics and the Newton High School Band. The family would like to thank the staff at Covington Care Center for the special care given to Charlie during his stay. Funeral services will be held 6:00 PM Friday, November 12, at Jackson-Sarver Funeral Home, 1 S. Main St., Pleasant Hill. Interment at Sugartree Ridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4-6 PM Friday at the funeral home. If so desired, memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association or the charity of one's choice.
