Carlos E Hamblin

Carlos E. Hamblin, age 83 of Laura, Ohio passed away on Monday, October 17, 2022, at UVMC, Troy. He was born January 24, 1939, in Portsmouth, Ohio to the late Lauren & Netti (Slye) Hamblin. He is preceded in death by his brother Jerry Hamblin and in-laws Chuck & Kitty (Smuzok) Bir and Gertrude (Smuzok) Motsch. He will be incredibly missed by his wife Norma (Smuzok) Hamblin of 63 years. Children; Tammy(Dino) Reese of Pleasant Hill, Carla (Scott) Bertke of New Bremen, Mark Hamblin of Laura and Susan (Craig) Supinger of Laura. His grandchildren and their spouses who he loved dearly Brad (Traudi) Hamblin, 

Ariel Supinger, Cheyenne Supinger, Garrett Supinger, Chasity (Justin) Bachman  and his special niece & family Angie (Chris)Stock & son Alex. 

Carlos graduated from Kiser High School, drove a beer delivery truck then went to work for Duriron where he retired. Carlos & Norma met at a gathering, Norma’s hands were cold and someone told Carlos she needed her hands warmed up and that’s how the story began. Carlos loved Albuquerque, New Mexico. There were many family trips to New Mexico where great memories were made and are still talked about today. He loved coming home in the summer months after a long days work and would do a cannon ball into the family pool. He enjoyed tinkering with lionel trains, woodworking, building small ornamental airplanes, gardening,  fishing and cheering on his Cleveland Browns! He found great delight in having a cold beer and hanging with his family on the deck with the large Koi pond. His cell phone was important to him and a great means of communication. He was a texter! We are going to miss him dearly, if only we could get a text from heaven! A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, October 29, 2:00p.m. – 6:00p.m. with a prayer service at 2:30p.m. at the Rehabilitation Center, 1306 Garbry Rd., Piqua. In lieu of flowers please consider a contribution in honor & memory of Carlos to Rehab Center/Nicholas School, 1306 Garbry Rd., Piqua, Ohio 45356.
