Beverly Elaine Kauffman
Age 64, of Houston, passed away Monday, May 12, 2025, at Upper Valley Medical Center. A life marked by unparalleled warmth and kindness, Bev was born August 2, 1960, in Piqua, Ohio, to her parents Larry E. & Joy E. (Harmon) Lavey.
A proud graduate of Newton High School's class of 1978, Bev furthered her education by earning an associate's degree from Edison State. She channeled her entrepreneurial spirit as the owner of the Cheer Barn, a place that reflected her love for cheerleading and her nurturing nature.
Bev's passions knew no bounds as she cultivated a life rich with interests—from her adoration of exotic animals, including monkeys and cougars, to the delicate hobby of furniture refinishing. She reveled in the thrills of riding motorcycles and cherished her retreats to Lake Cumberland.
Her heart shined brightest when surrounded by loved ones; most notably, Bev's husband of 37 years, Hal, and their treasured granddaughters Emily and Catie and special "granddaughter" Nova. Bev leaves a legacy of love—a testament to a life splendidly lived.
She will be missed and remembered by her loving husband Hal Kauffman; step-son and daughter-in-law Jarrod & Angela Kauffman of Houston; sister Lori Smith of Bradford; brother-in-law and sisters-in-law Mike & Wanda Kauffman of Texas and Ann Kauffman of Sidney; step-granddaughters Emily Kauffman and Catherine (Keaton) Cox; special family members Cheyanne Lumpkin and her daughter Nova; sister-in-law Pam Lavey of Bradford; nephews Michael Smith and Larry Lavey; nieces Carmen Gephart and Brieen Eifert; great nephews Cash Gephart, Carter Smith, Jax Gephart; great nieces Emerson Lavey and Phoebe Lavey. She was preceded in death by her parents; step-son Edward Kauffman; brother Larry Lavey; great niece Jordan Eifert.
