SHELLENBERGER, Betty Jean Age 90 of Pleasant Hill, passed away Sunday,May 1, 2011, at Caldwell House, Troy. She was born March 4, 1921, in Darke County, OH, to her parents Roscoe ?Garfield? & Alice (Kraner) North. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 64 years Paul R. Shellenberger; sister Ruth North; brother Emil North; grandchildren Paxton Chadwick McDaniel and Jan Ryan Shellenberger. She is survived by sons & daughters-in-law Jan & Sherry Shellenberger of Pleasant Hill, Phil & Chris Shellenberger of Ludlow Falls, Dave & Sherry Shellenberger of Ludlow Falls; grandchildren Kori (Joe) Hutchinson, Kyli Lynn Willis, J.P. Shellenberger, Kate Shellenberger, Nick (Jennifer) Shellenberger, Adam (Angie) Shellenberger, Heidi (Jeremy) Butts, Megan (Robert) Hague; 11 great grandchildren. Betty graduated from Newton High School Class of 1939. Betty farmed with her husband, Paul, in Newton Township for many years and worked at Rike's Department Store, Hobart Manufacturing, and Federal Crop Insurance. She was a member of the First Brethren Church, Pleasant Hill, where she taught Sunday school and served as a Deaconess, Betty was also a member of the Homemakers Club. The family would like to thank the staff at Caldwell House and Hospice of Miami County for the care they showed to Betty during her stay with them and a special thank you to Pastor Lynn Mercer and Chaplin Ed Ellis. Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Friday, May 6, at the First Brethren Church, 210 N. Church Street, Pleasant Hill. Pastor Lynn Mercer will officiate with interment following at Pleasant Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5-8 PM Thursday at Jackson-Sarver Funeral Home, 1 S. Main St. Pleasant Hill. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Miami County or First Brethren Church Memorial Fund.
