Betsy J. Martz

Age 69, of Pleasant Hill, passed away Wednesday, December 11, 2024, at Hospice of Dayton. She was born October 13, 1955, in Troy, Ohio, to her parents Donald & Peggy (Minton) Shook. She was preceded in death by her husband Stephen R. Martz and her parents. Betsy graduated from Newton High School class of 1974 where she was the head majorette of the band and loved to twirl. She worked as a receptionist for many years until she retired. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren who she adored. She enjoyed baking, shopping and collecting angels and teddy bears. 

She will be missed and remembered by her daughter and son-in-law Angel & Kasey Sims of Bellefontaine;  grandchildren Courtney Sims and Xavier Sims; brother and sister-in-law Ray “Butch” & Sandy Shook of Florida; sister Priscilla Weer of Covington; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. 

 Funeral services will be held 4:00 PM Saturday, December 14, at Jackson-Sarver Funeral Home, 1 S. Main Street, Pleasant Hill. The family will receive friends from 2:00-4:00 PM Saturday at the funeral home. If so desired, memorial contributions may be made to Ohio’s Hospice, 324 Wilmington Ave, Dayton, OH 45420.
