Anita Fay Leis

Age 69, of Laura, passed away Friday, January 19, 2024, at Kettering Medical Center, Dayton. She was born September 29, 1954, in West Liberty, Kentucky, to her parents Bernard & Elizabeth (Center) Nickell. She graduated from Meadowdale High School. On December 14, 1974, she married Chester “Chet” Leis in Laura, Ohio, and together they shared a life for over 49 years. Anita attended First Brethren Church in Pleasant Hill. 

She will be missed and remembered by her loving husband Chet Leis; daughter and son-in-law Jennifer & Pepe Aspra of Chillicothe; grandchildren Sophia Anita Aspra, Isabella Adriana Aspra; sister and brother-in-law Jackie & Kelly Gibson of Englewood.

A memorial service will be held 12:00 PM Saturday, January 27, at the First Brethren Church, 210 Church Street, Pleasant Hill. A gathering of family and friends and a reception will follow the services at church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First Brethren Church.
