Robert Joseph Sollmann
Age 74, of Pleasant Hill, passed away Wednesday, June 27, 2018, at the Ross Heart Hospital- Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. He was born March 26, 1944, in Piqua, Ohio, to his parents Forest L. & Thelma O. (Skiver) Sollmann. Bob graduated from Newton High School class of 1962. He retired from Dayton Public Schools as a skilled tradesman after over 30 years of employment. He was a member of the Pleasant Hill United Church of Christ, the VFW Post 6557 Mountaintop Auxiliary, and was a former Pleasant Hill council member and a former member of the Pleasant Hill Fish and Game. Bob loved animals and enjoyed the outdoors where he spent much time hunting, fishing, and golfing. But mostly, he loved spending time with his family and attending his grandchildren’s sporting events. He will be missed and remembered by his loving wife of 34 years Jeanne P. (Brown) Sollmann; children and their spouses Susan & Steve Richards of Covington, Seffanie Edwards of Covington, Jessica & Brett Barnes of Covington, Shawn & Stefanie Landis of Pleasant Hill; 10 grandchildren; siblings and their spouses Doris Garrett, Margie Helmer, Marilyn Jenkins, Donna & Bill Favorite, Forest “Ted” & Susan Sollmann, Richard & Kathy Sollmann. He was preceded in death by his brother Don Magill; brothers-in-law Preston Garrett, Charles Helmer, and Jack Jenkins; and his beloved schnauzer, Harvey. Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM Monday, July 2, at Jackson-Sarver Funeral Home, 1 S. Main Street, Pleasant Hill, with interment following at Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
