Paul Emerson Miller, age 95, of Pleasant Hill, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at the Hospice Center of Upper Valley Medical Center. He was born January 1, 1923, to the late Ray (Shorty) and Treva (Divens) Miller of Pleasant Hill.
Paul is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, John and Virginia Miller of Wapakoneta, Rick and Cheryl Miller of Ludlow Falls, and Doug and Sandi Miller of Pleasant Hill, daughter and son-in-law Sharon and Bill Kabel of Ridgeville, IN., sisters, Velma Custer of Tipp City, Dorothy Swearingin of Troy, and one brother Arthur Miller of Covington. He was a loving and adored grandfather to 13 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by his loving wife of 70 years, Cleola (Agne) Miller, sister Glenna Wick, brothers Harold and Russell Miller, and 3 grandsons.
Paul was a 1941 graduate of Newton Local School, served in the US Army during WW II, and was a member of the First Brethren Church in Pleasant Hill. His life’s work was his family and his dairy and grain farming operation. He worked the soil and helped around the farm until fall 2017. Willing and able to help move equipment, work ground, or make parts runs until the job was done. His family was blessed to have such an honest, hardworking, dedicated, loving man to quietly guide them throughout their lives. He will be greatly missed.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM Monday, March 5, at Jackson-Sarver Funeral Home, 1 South Main Street, Pleasant Hill. Pastor Eugene Oburn will officiate with interment following at Pleasant Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2-5 PM Sunday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Miami County, 550 Summit Ave, Troy, Ohio 45373, or First Brethren Church, 210 N. Church Street, Pleasant Hill, Ohio, 45359.
