Recently I received a call from Pam informing me of her mother's passing. I was deeply touched that she would take the time to let me know even though she had no idea who I was or how her mom and dad's lives had impacted mine. I knew Carolyn, Gene, & Bruce & Shirley Fessler from my family's time in the Pleasant Hill Church of the Brethren. Those amazing adults made such an impact on my life and on the lives of many of the CBYF youth. Even though they had families with young children, jobs, and many other obligations, their energy, expertise, love for kids, and love for Jesus Christ made such an impact on so many of us. Thank you to all of these loving adults who lived their faith and served as Christian role models for us all.

To the Weeks Family: My heartfelt sympathies go out to you on your Mom's/Grandmother's passing. She was a happy part of my youth and life in Pleasant Hill, and a wonderful neighbor. She and Gene always had smiles and laughter to share with all. I hope you have wonderful memories to hold dear.

So sad to hear about Carolyn's passing. I spoke to her about 3 weeks ago and we talked about having lunch. She and I were best friends during our years at Lanier High School. Spent many a nite at her home and vice versa. We cheered together, sand in a triple trio and just enjoyed our years together. There aren't many of the 1953 class left. My condolences to the family. I will always remember Carolyn with a smile on my face.

Hi Sue! I am Carolyn's youngest daughter and I have seen photos of you and my mom as cheerleaders and we found an autograph book from when you all were in 6th grade and I remember your name. You all must have had so much fun when you were young! Friendship is so important and it makes my heart sing to read your sympathy note. If you get this please email me. I would love to send you a copy of the photos we found. Thank you!

Jeff, Pam, and family members. While I did not know your mom, I knew your Dad and I know Jeff and Pam. That tells me what a wonderful woman your mom must have been. My thoughts are with all of you. Losing parents is so very difficult, no matter what the circumstances. I hope that your memories ease the pain that grief brings.

Pam, Jeff and Beth - I have so many fond memories of both of your parents!! From the events at school to the homemade Chef-Boyardee pizza parties at your home when our families would get together. My dad would have been 76 today on their anniversary. I sure hope the 3 of them are laughing together once again!

We are so sorry for your loss. The picture you've posted is how we remember her! Imogene appreciated and enjoyed Carolyn's friendship and visits greatly! Perhaps their planning a lunch trip now. May the peace that surpasses our understanding be with your whole family during the coming days and weeks.

I will always remember her fondly. She was always bright and cheerful and I am saddened by your loss, but Praise the Lord she is free of cancer and pain.
