Growing up in Pleasant Hill (parents are Noble & Virginia Rankin), the Jackson name was well known. My sincerest sympathies to the Jackson and Powell families. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

The pride that many of us feel for Newton Schools has a direct link to Andy,. His accomplishments and records as a Newton basketball player are still quite remarkable even by current measures. He seemed to epitomize the values that our community and school have always held....that God is good, that our country is great, and that family is really important. Our prayers are with Andy's family. We pray that you will be comforted by his wonderful legacy. We feel blessed to have known him. He will always be one of the greatest of Newton Indians!
