Sheryl Ann (Davis) Clingen (of the Brethren Retirement Community in Greenville) went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, January 9, 2024. She was such a sweet, kind woman as well as a wonderful Mother Wife, and Nurse.
She was born on February 15, 1942 to Jar (Gerald) and Mary Gibson-Davis.
She graduated from Newton Local High School in Pleasant Hill in 1960. Then, she fulfilled her lifelong dream of becoming a nurse. She graduated with her RN from Miami Valley Nursing School in 1964. Sheryl spent many years sharing her passion for the field of nursing. Her journey as a nurse began with a career as a labor and delivery nurse for over 43 years. She always said that she especially enjoyed working with the babies in the nursery. During her career she worked at various hospitals in California, Tennessee and Ohio.
She was a member of the Bible Fellowship Church in Greenville, Ohio. Shewas also proud to have been a member of Grace Community Church in Sun Valley, CA where Rev. John McArthur is Senior Pastor for her many years as an RN in California. She grew up in her faith as a little girl here in Ohio at West Grove Church and Pleasant View Missionary Church.
She was preceded in death by: her husband, Robert Fraser Clingen; her parents, Gerald (Jar) & Mary Gibson-Davis; her father & mother-in-law, Rev. Herbert & Ruth Clingen; brother-in-laws, Bill Clingen &, David Bridgen; sister-in-law, Susan (Hill) Davis; Nephew, Ed Kauffman; and grandniece, Molly Murphy. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Monday, January 22, at Jackson-Sarver Funeral Home, 1 S. Main Street, Pleasant Hill. Rev Jeff Smith from the Bible Fellowship Church of Greenville will officiate with interment following at Pleasant Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10–11 AM Monday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to: Bible Fellowship Church, Everheart Hospice or The Arc of Ohio/Miami County.
