Thomas Bealer Roudebush

March 18, 1933 ~ January 12, 2016 (age 82) 82 Years Old

Thomas "Bealer" Roudebush, 82, of Pleasant Hill, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 12, 2016, at his residence following a short illness. Tom was a graduate of Kiser High School in North Dayton, Class of 1953.  He served in the Army from 1953-1955 before being honorably discharged.  He served an apprenticeship as a tool and die maker which became his livelihood in life, retiring from GM/Delco.

Tom played semi-pro football for the Dayton Triangles.  He and his wife Alma were both enthusiastic scuba divers, and Tom was a very active underwater photographer, capturing their many dives in the Florida Keys and the Bahamas.  He was a past president of the Dayton Scuba Divers.  His passion for photography led him to an opportunity to film the City of Dayton High School football games at Welcome Stadium.  Tom was a member of the Riverview Masonic Lodge #717.  He was inducted into the Kiser High School Athletic Hall of Fame in October 2014, due to his outstanding performance playing football in high school.  He and Alma were thrilled to be chosen to take a trip with veterans to Washington, D.C. in 2012.

Tom is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Alma Roudebush; two stepsons, Don Meerhoff (wife Victoria) of Indianapolis, IN and Ron Meerhoff (partner Michael Rhoads) of Madison, WI; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his mom and dad, Ruth and Harley Roudebush; father Thomas S. Condor; in-laws Billie and George Hatch; twin brother Garner; brother Henry; stepdaughter Teri Sue Meerhoff; stepson Jack Keith Meerhoff; and daughter Rebecca Rene'.

Many thanks to Hospice of Miami County, Comfort Keepers, and the Dayton VA for their care of Tom. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to any of these organizations.

A funeral service to honor his life will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, January 16, at Jackson-Sarver Funeral Home, 1 S. Main St., Pleasant Hill, with Pastor Craig Showalter officiating.  Friends may call from 12-2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.  Private burial will be at a later date.  Online tributes may be left for Tom’s family at jackson-sarver.com. Dad, our hearts are breaking but we find solace knowing you are at peace. We will never forget you. Thank you for being our "dad".
