Thomas Woodward Bohlander

Age 83, of Pleasant Hill, passed away Monday, December 12, 2016, at Good Samaritan Hospital. He was born November 12, 1933, in Piqua, Ohio to his parents Clarence & Margaret (Simes) Bohlander. Tom graduated from Piqua High School class of 1951 and earned an accounting degree from Miami Jacobs Career College.  On November 10, 1957, he married Lois Evans in Pleasant Hill where they raised their family and shared a life until her passing in 2000. Tom was the owner of the Bohlander Insurance Agency and was a longtime member of the Pleasant Hill Church of the Brethren. He was a volunteer for the Youth for Understanding foreign exchange program where he hosted over 12 students in his home throughout the years. He was also an active member of the Sidney Stamp Club, Pleasant Hill Kiwanis, and the Sons of the American Revolution. He was preceded in death by his loving wife Lois Bohlander; son Anthony Evans Bohlander; siblings Nancy Wall, Alan Bohlander, and David Bohlander. He will be missed and remembered by his children and their spouses Teresa & Mark Brandt of Dayton, Christopher Woodward & Zemir Magalhaes Bohlander of Chicago, Brian Edge & Susan Bohlander of Pleasant Hill, and Matthew Laughman Bohlander of Troy; grandchildren Abby & Lucas Delcamp, Elena Bolander and companion Olan Griffiths, Anthony Brandt, Megan Bohlander,  and Aparecido Bohlander; great grandson Owen Delcamp; special friend Shirley Cochran. A memorial service will be held at 6:30 PM Friday,  December 16, at the Pleasant Hill Church of the Brethren, 300 E. Monument Street, Pleasant Hill, with Pastor Nick Beam officiating. The family will be receiving friends at a reception following the service.
