Samuel Franklin Roetter

Age 65, of Pleasant Hill, passed away Wednesday, November 1, 2017, at SpringMeade Health Center, Troy. He was born March 16, 1952, in Piqua, Ohio, to his parents John W. & Marie (Kinnison) Roetter. Sam graduated from Newton High School and earned his associates degree from Edison State. He retired as a Motor Carrier Enforcement Inspector for the State Highway Patrol and worked part time as an auctioneer. He was a former Pleasant Hill police chief, Newton Township Trustee, and served on the Pleasant Hill Volunteer Fire Department for many years. He was a US Army Veteran and was a lifelong member of the Pleasant Hill Mountain Top VFW Post 6557.   Sam enjoyed yard work and going to casinos. Everyone he met was special in Sam’s eyes and he was always willing to help anyone who needed it. He will be missed and remembered by his loving wife of 43 years Vicky Ann (Vanatta) Roetter; daughter Kristina Marie Adams of Covington; grandchildren Caleb Roetter-Ditty and Dominic Adams; sister Suzanne Mitchell of Covington; sister-in-law Nancy Roetter of Raleigh, NC. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Roger Roetter, Ronnie Roetter; sisters Ruthann Laber, Patricia Warner; brother-in-law Richard Mitchell. Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM Tuesday, November 7, at Jackson-Sarver Funeral Home, 1 S. Main Street, Pleasant Hill, with interment following at Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
