Norma Mae Fisher, 91, of Troy, a longtime resident of Covington, passed away Saturday, April 8, 2017, at Brookdale of Troy. She was born November 6, 1925, in Clayton, to the late Paul and Emma (Flory) Denlinger. She was united in marriage to John M. Fisher on January 5, 1947; he preceded her death on October 31, 2016.
Mrs. Fisher is survived by her daughters and son-in-law, Wanda (Richard) Reece of Peterstown, W.Va., Jane Fisher of Covington; daughter-in-law Marilyn Fisher of Covington; son-in-law Daryl Layman of Brookville; 13 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; siblings Eldon (Phyllis) Denlinger of Englewood, Faye (Paul) Garber of Greenville, Floyd Denlinger of Brookville, Merlin (Sherry) Denlinger of Modesto, Calif., Don (Shirley) Denlinger of Clayton; and sister-in-law Doris Denlinger of Clayton. Norma was preceded in death by her son Edward Fisher; daughter Marilyn Layman; brothers Ramon and Bill Denlinger; and sisters-in-law Helen, Esther, and Edna Denlinger.
Mrs. Fisher was a member of the Old German Baptist Brethren Church, Covington District. She was a lifelong homemaker and enjoyed sewing and gardening.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 12, at the Old German Baptist Brethren Church, 6360 Farrington Rd., Covington. Burial will follow in Miami Memorial Park, Covington. Visitation will be from 2-5 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Jackson-Sarver Funeral Home, 10 S. High St., Covington. Online tributes may be left for the family at jackson-sarver.com.
