Larry B. Robbins

Age 77, of Pleasant Hill, passed away Saturday morning, May 6, 2017, to meet with his Lord, at  Hospice Miami County Inpatient Unit in Troy.   Born in Miami County on January 22, 1940 to the late Freeda Smith Robbins and Earl S. Robbins.

Larry will be missed and remembered by his loving wife of 55 years, Beverly Fessler Robbins; three children, Lonnie (Tami) Robbins, Lynee’ (Tony) Jackson, and Lane (Sherry) Robbins;  8 grandchildren, Levi Robbins, Logan Robbins, Layla Robbins, Tiara Jackson, Treg Jackson, Morgan Robbins, Sarah Robbins, and Jenna Robbins all of Pleasant Hill; one sister, Diana Bashore of Troy, OH,  four brothers, Virlen Robbins, Apoka, FL;  Dennis Robbins, Savannah, GA;  Eldon Robbins, Pleasant Hill, OH; Gerald Robbins, Troy, OH.  While raising their family, Larry and Bev served as foster parents for 13 years.

One of Larry’s favorite pastimes was attending his grandchildren’s many activities and spending time with his family and friends.   He was a good-humored person throughout the duration of his life-- the good times and the difficult times.

 Larry retired from Hobart Corporation (PMI) in Troy, OH after 38 years of service.  He had a love in restoration of vintage cars and Cushman motor scooters.  He was active in the Vintage Chevrolet Clubs of America (NCCA) and the Piqua Antique Car Klub.

He supported the community serving on numerous Pleasant Hill Village boards and activities.  He was involved with his sons’  businesses, Village Sunoco – Pleasant Hill and Market Fresh Foods – Covington.  Larry was always available to assist in many ways including errand-runner and thus evolved his nickname of “Gopher”.  Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM Thursday, May 11, at Jackson-Sarver Funeral Home, 1 S. Main Street, Pleasant Hill. Pastor Lynn Mercer will officiate with interment following at Pleasant Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 3-8 PM Wednesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Larry’s memory may be made to Pleasant Hill Fire Department EMS.
