Harry Lewis Brock Jr.

Harry Lewis “Lew” Brock Jr., 92, of Tipp City, passed away Monday, April 18, 2016, at Springmeade Health Center.  A son of the late Harry L. and Alberta (Forni) Brock, he was born July 4, 1923, in Tacoma, Belmont County, Ohio.  He was also preceded in death by siblings Madeline McMillion and Robert W. Brock.

Lew will be missed and remembered by his loving wife of 66 years, Frances A. (Hill) Brock of Tipp City; son and daughter-in-law Bill & Loree Brock of Sparks, OK; daughter and son-in-law Carol & John Zinkel of Grosse Pointe, MI; five grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and brother Francis L. Brock of Bethesda, OH.

Lew graduated from Barnesville High School, Class of 1941.  He retired from the Federal Civil Service with the Army Signal Corps, Army Air Corps, U.S. Air Corps, and U.S. Air Force, after 42 years of service as an aerial motion picture cameraman, optical effects and animation photographer, and film editor.  He was a volunteer at the former Stouder Hospital and Upper Valley Medical Center for 28 years.

Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 22, at Pleasant Hill Cemetery with Pastor Bonita Ritchie officiating.  A visitation and luncheon will begin at 12 p.m. Friday at the Tipp City United Methodist Church, 8 W. Main St., Tipp City.  Arrangements are in care of Jackson-Sarver Family Funeral Home, Pleasant Hill.  Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Miami County.  Online memories may be left for Lew’s family at jackson-sarver.com.
